Jessica Rosenberg Brown, MD, FACOG
Dr. Brown graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, where she majored in History and Art History while also completing her premedical requirements and developing an interest in endocrinology, genetics, and women’s health. After Dartmouth, Dr. Brown returned to the New York area to attend the New York University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The New York Hospital - Cornell (now New York – Presbyterian Hospital) and did her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Brown is board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Brown has been named to New York Magazine's Best Doctors list, and she has been selected as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology. She has also received peer recognition from SuperDoctors.com.
Dr. Brown has been in private practice in New York City since 1993. Upon completion of her fellowship training she joined the division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Maimonides Medical Center and began working with one of the area’s first IVF programs, IVF America in Mineola, where she served as Associate Medical Director from 1994-1995. She was cofounder in 1996 of Reproductive Medicine Associates of Brooklyn, LLP, the first Satellite office of the NYU Fertility Center/NYU Program for IVF. Dr. Brown joined Madison Women’s Health & Fertility in 2008. She maintains her academic appointment on the faculty of the New York University School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology http://www.med.nyu.edu/biosketch/brownj05 ). Dr. Brown teaches residents and students both at NYU Langone Medical Center and at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, an NYU affiliate, where she is the founding director of the Infertility/Reproductive Endocrine clinic. Dr. Brown’s clinical and research interests include polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), reproductive aging, primary ovarian insufficiency/premature ovarian failure, fertility preservation, and perimenopause.
Dr. Brown served as President of The New York Gynecological Society for 2010-2011. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Independent Doctors of New York http://www.idny.org/ and on the Medical Advisory Board of A TIME http://www.atime.org/. She was featured on ABC's 20/20 episode "Inside the Online World of Free Sperm Donation" which aired in 2012, and quoted in the related ABC News Medical Unit Blog story "Women Skip Both Banks for Free Online Sperm".
Dr. Brown is committed to helping her patients build their families and achieve optimal health of body and spirit. With each patient or couple Dr. Brown develops an individualized treatment plan that builds on a foundation of evidence based medicine, but is influenced by the specific needs of each patient, including underlying medical issues, readiness to utilize advanced reproductive technologies, and particular psychological, cultural and religious concerns.
